An alternative way of creating Price Charts, (both Sales and Purchase) is to use the Price Matrix. This is a quick way of creating basic price information.

Create a Purchase Price and Season Chart

Before Prices can be created in a Price Chart, Season Charts need to be created. The Season Price charts are created using exactly the same method described in the previous chapter.
Step-by-Step: Creating a Purchase Price Chart

1. Select Travel> Purchase Prices. Alternatively select the icon.

The Purchase Prices menu is displayed.

1. Select Production&Procurement > The Americas > Caribbean > Grenada.
2. Right click on the Grenada catalogue.
3. Select Create new price chart.

The Price Chart (Purchase) screen will open.

1. Enter GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 in the Name field.
2. Select Stay related in the Price calculation field.

As pricing is season dependent before any prices can be entered into DaVinci a Season Chart must be created and the dates for each season defined. To create the Season Chart:

1. Select the button to the right of the Season Chart field.

The Season Dates screen will be displayed:

1. Select the Production&Procurement catalogue from the Catalog field.
2. Select Purchase from the Season chart field.
3. Select New on the left side.

The Season Chart screen will be displayed.

1. Enter GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 in the Description field.
2. Ensure Purchase is selected in the Permitted field.
3. Select OK to save the Season Chart.

The GNDHBLUHOR Season Chart is now visible.

1. Select GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11
2. Select New on the right side.

The GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 is now visible.
The Season Period screen will open.
The Season Period screen is used to define a season's from date and to date.

1. Enter B in the Description field.
2. Enter B in the Season code field.
3. Enter 01.11.2010 in the Date from field.
4. Enter 23122010 in the till field.
5. Select Apply to save the first period.

The Season Period screen will remain visible, ready to enter the next season.

1. Enter the remaining seasons, as shown in the table below:

1. Select OK to save the last period and return to the Season Dates screen.

The Season Dates are now visible on the right side of the screen.

1. Select OK to save the Season Chart.
2. Select the drop down box to the right of the Season Chart field.
3. Double click on the GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 Season Chart.
4. Select Price chart enable in all catalogues.

1. Select OK to save the Sales price chart.

The Sales price chart is now visible on the left side of the screen.

Now that the Seasons have been created the Purchase Price per Season need to be entered. To do this:

1. Select Travel > Services.
2. Select Master > The Americas > Caribbean > Grenada.
3. Open the Blue Horizons Garden Resort Booking Code.
4. Select the Booking Code tab.
5. Select Production&Procurement > The Americas > Caribbean > Grenada.
6. Select the GNDHBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 season chart.

The Season Chart is linked to the booking code.

1. Click OK.

The Purchase Price Chart will appear:
The Price Chart appears here once it is linked to the Booking Code.Ensure the Purchase tab is selected.

To enter the Purchase Price for each season:

1. Right Click on the GNDBLUHOR/ASE/Y11 Price Chart.
2. Select Prices in Matrix.

The Price Matrix screen is displayed:
Right Click in this area to select the Price Codes and Service Types menu item which will give access to the Price Matrix screen.

1. Right Click in the Price Code area of the screen select Price Codes and Service Types.

The Price Matrix screen is displayed:

1. Click OK.

A matrix is displayed. The columns display the Season Codes and the rows displaying the Service Types attached to the Blue Horizon Garden Resort's Booking Code.

1. Click OK.

The Purchase Prices are now created.
