Introduction

This documentation describes the functionality of sales price calculation out of purchase prices for single services.

Purchase prices

For the documentation of the functionality of sales price calculation from purchase prices the following booking code is used:

The purchase price table is "MLEANGAGA". On purchase side the hotel has six different room prices and one additional price for full board:

Example for purchase price of one room ("Superior Bungalow Doppel"):
In season "1" the "Superior Bungalow" costs 198, 00 USD per night. Additionally the tour operator purchases the night/child for 49,00 USD.

With a right mouse-click on the highest price chart the user gets a context menu.
Selecting menu item "Calculation" the calculation of the sales prices on base of the purchase price chart is started.

DaVinci opens a chart display (similar to Excel-spread-sheet) where all basic purchase prices (rows displayed in black colour) and all reductions and special offers (rows displayed in blue colour) are listed.
IMPORTANT: In current version of DaVinci the seasons stored on purchase side are automatically taken for the calculation of the sales prices. During the calculation process it is not possible to assign a different season structure for the sales chart.

Calculation of the sales prices

Sales price currency

To calculate the sales prices it is required to set up the currency into which the sales price should be calculated.

In this example the currency "EUR" is selected for the sales prices. DaVinci automatically loads the exchange rate from purchase to sales currency into the calculation spread sheet. The sales price (column "amount to final") is updated accordingly:

The exchange rate for Euro is loaded according to the exchange rate settings given in the DaVinci currency chart.

Rounding

The user has the possibility to define the rounding rule that should be used for the calculation of the sales prices.

In this example the rounding rule defined is "Ending up", the rounding aim is defined to be"1,00". This means that all sales prices calculated according to the definitions are automatically rounded to a "full Euro" amount (see column "Amount to final")
DaVinci offers different types of rounding rules:

  • Ending-up
  • Ending-down
  • Ending
  • No rounding

It was enhanced since version 1052 that all calculations will affect only the price lines the user has marked.

This is also valid for the currency rate, the rounding and the following described calculations of commission Margin and additional parameter.

A button "Select all" will mark all lines with on action.

Commission

The commission given to the retail agent can be defined as calculation parameter (Commission %).

In the example it is set as 10 %. The column "Comm. %" is filled accordingly and the sales price is automatically updated:

Margin

The margin can be defined as calculation parameter:
DaVinci offers different types of Margin paramter:

  1. Margin%
  2. Margin Absolute

In the example it is set as 23 %. The column "Margin%" is filled accordingly and the sales price is automatically updated:

Additional calculation parameter

Additional calculation amount can be defined as calculation parameter:

In the example it is set as "0". The column "Addition" is filled accordingly and the sales price is automatically updated:

Manual adjustment

Before storing the price calculation spread sheet the user is able to manually adjust any field in following rows in order to create a "nice price" or the reflect different conditions of seasons:

  • Commission
  • Margin
  • Addition
  • Amount to final

Generation of the sales price chart

After clicking on the "Save" Button, the sales price will be generated and stored.

Since version 1052 only the price lines are stored the user has marked previously. In case a user wants to save all lines he can use the button: "Select all".

In the list DaVinci shows the result of the conversion process.
A new price table in the tab "sales" of the price administration console of DaVinci is displayed.

Example for sales price of one room ("Superior Bungalow Doppel") calculated out of purchase price:
In season "1" the "Superior Bungalow" costs 173,00 EUR per night. Additionally the tour operator charges the night/child with 43 EUR.
